A person familiar with the situation tells the Associated Press that Jets running back Mike Goodson is expected to return to practice Tuesday despite his legal troubles.  The person spoke on condition of anonymity Friday because the team hasn't announced anything regarding Goodson's status. He missed the Jets' first three Organized Team Activity practices this week after being arrested last Friday on multiple charges of drug and weapons possession.

On Thursday, the road back included running some drills at an offseason practice. Wearing a helmet but no jersey and sporting a large brace on his reconstructed right knee, Griffin did some handoffs and throws with other teammates recovering from injuries. It's the latest step toward his goal of playing in the season opener in September.

The New York Giants may have to start looking for a fullback.  Starter Henry Hynoski will have surgery Friday to repair his medial collateral ligament and a chip fracture in his left knee. The three-year veteran was hurt Wednesday on the second play from scrimmage during an 11-on-11 drill in an organized team activity.

The agent for first-round draft pick Star Lotulelei says his client has signed a four-year contract with the Carolina Panthers.  Financial terms were not released. The deal includes a team option for a fifth season.  Bruce Tollner says Lotulelei, the 14th overall pick in the NFL draft, is ''extremely excited to officially become a Panther.''
